Services
Each client has different requirements. The brief can be relatively small - a replacement Roman blind for a cloakroom - or a much larger job, making and hanging different window dressings for an entire home. Clients approach me at different stages of the fabric decision process too. Some have found, and sometimes bought, fabric. Others feel overwhelmed and seek guidance in the initial stages.

Whatever your requirements are, in the first instance I usually arrange a consultation with you at your home.
Consultation
If you know what you would like and simply seek a quotation, it maybe possible to provide this without an appoinment. I will need some basic measurements and photographs.

For the majority of clients, advice, ideas and guidance are needed to inform a quotation. For example, I can help you decide whether curtains or roman blinds would work best or provide expert advice for tricky window solutions. Choosing fabric can be exciting but it is easy to not know where to start - my input will help you feel confident about your decisions. My initial consultation charge is £50.00; the sum is deductible from any work I do for you if you choose to proceed.

If you are not sure one of these options apply to you, but are interested in discussing your requirements, please email me at painswickcurtainsandblinds@gmail.com
Creation
All items are handcrafted, using traditional methods. This gives a unique and luxurious look and feel. Fabrics are treated with care, and attention to detail and consideration of pattern repeat is exceptionally high. Curtains and blinds are almost always interlined and I can also supply blackout/thermal lining where required.
Curtain heading options include pencil pleats, cottage pleats and pinch pleats ( I do not do eyelet headings). Which is the most appropriate curtain heading and what length of curtains will be most appropriate will depend on a number of factors.

With Roman blinds, these can be hung inside or outside the window recess. I can talk you through the pros and cons of each. Because each item is bespoke, the number of pleats can vary as to what works best for a given window.
Depending on how a fabric repeat works, sometimes there is enough left for some cushions or maybe a lampshade or footstool. If you are interested we can discuss this once I know what there is left to work with; a bit of pretty trim, a contrasting fabric with a soft stripe for piping, or a plain for the back of a cushion, are all ways to highlight and use a fabric in a different way in your room – or indeed take it into another one.
Implementation
I deliver and fit items.
I can hang curtains to existing poles/tracks as long as the fixings are sound. If you need or choose to have new poles/tracks I can help with sourcing them. Roman blinds are supplied on safety compliant headrails.
If you would like me to arrange for new poles, tracks and/or headrails to be fixed, I have a friendly and reliable fitter and can obtain a quotation from him for the work.
